In Jeddah, for instance, it might be 27 or 28 degrees, but with 70% humidity and all those layers of clothing, the heat is extreme,” he noted.
Even with the cooling vests’ potential to enhance driver comfort, Bearman emphasized that optimizing the car’s performance remains the top priority for teams. “The vest is heavy, and we are trying to extract the maximum performance from the car. We’re not going to lighten the car just to use it. Unfortunately, we will have to endure until something changes, and we can use it more freely,” he concluded.
