Hamilton reveals he was anxious when presenting the new F1 film to the drivers.

Lewis Hamilton recently shared his feelings of anxiety and excitement as he presented the highly anticipated Formula 1 film for the first time to fellow drivers prior to the Monaco Grand Prix. The exclusive screening took place in Monaco, where all the F1 drivers and team principals gathered for this special occasion. The official release of the film, which stars Brad Pitt, is set for June 27 in theaters.

The film has been brought to life by renowned producer Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joseph Kosinski, who is also known for his work on “Top Gun: Maverick.” Hamilton played a significant role in the production as both a producer and a technical consultant, and he mentioned that he has already seen the film approximately twenty times.

Reflecting on the experience, Hamilton remarked, “First of all, it wasn’t actually my first time seeing it; I’ve probably watched it around twenty times.” He expressed how incredible it was to collaborate with industry veterans like Joe and Jerry, allowing him to learn about the filmmaking process from the very beginning, starting with the initial thirty-page script and evolving it into a complete narrative, all while striving for authenticity.

He further noted, “But as Jerry pointed out to all the drivers and teams, it’s still Hollywood, right? So, knowing the film was finally ready after so much hard work… and then having all the drivers present, I found myself sitting there feeling quite nervous. Everyone was watching it for the first time, and it was fascinating to look around and see their reactions, especially from the other drivers.”

Hamilton emphasized the importance of feedback from his peers in the racing community, saying, “I genuinely care about what the drivers think; I want them to enjoy the film. After the screening, I spoke with them and asked for their honest opinions because there might be moments where someone could point out, ‘Hey, the pit stop timing is off’ or something along those lines. However, I believe the sound is fantastic, the visuals are remarkable, and it’s a unique endeavor that hasn’t been done before. So, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved.”

The excitement surrounding this film not only highlights Hamilton’s passion for motorsport but also underscores the collaborative spirit within the Formula 1 community. As fans eagerly await the official release, the anticipation builds for what promises to be a thrilling portrayal of the high-octane world of Formula 1 racing.
