Arvid Lindblad Secures Pole Position for Formula 2 Race in Barcelona

In an exhilarating qualifying session held at the Circuit de Barcelona, Spain, Arvid Lindblad clinched the pole position for the main race of the sixth round of the 2025 Formula 2 season. Driving for Campos Racing, Lindblad achieved a remarkable lap time of 1 minute and 25.180 seconds in the closing moments of the session, securing the top spot on the starting grid.

Grid Positions and Key Competitors

Sebastian Montoya, competing with Prema, claimed the second position on the grid, finishing just 0.245 seconds behind Lindblad. Montoya’s performance was commendable, but he could not quite match the pace set by the pole-sitter. Following closely, Kush Maini from DAMS earned the third spot, while Roman Stanek, representing Invicta, rounded out the top four, sharing the second row with Maini.

The top five positions were completed by Richard Verschoor of MP Motorsport, who benefited from a 13-place grid penalty imposed on Alexander Dunne, who originally qualified fifth. This penalty reshuffled the starting order, placing Dunne in a more challenging position for the upcoming races.

Jak Crawford, another talented driver from DAMS, will start from sixth on Sunday, while Luke Browning of Hitech secured seventh place. Browning will share the fourth row with Joshua Durksen from AIX Racing, who performed admirably during the qualifying session. Leonardo Fornaroli of Invicta qualified ninth, and José María Martí from Campos Racing rounded out the top ten.

Martí’s performance was particularly noteworthy, as he will also start in pole position for the Sprint race scheduled for Saturday, thanks to his qualifying effort.

Penalties Affecting the Starting Grid

It’s important to note that Alexander Dunne will face two penalties for the upcoming Sprint race. The first penalty, applicable only for the Sprint, will see him drop ten grid positions due to an incident that occurred in Monaco. Additionally, he faces a three-position penalty that will affect both races this weekend because of a collision with Victor Martins during the morning practice session. As a result, Dunne will start from the 19th position in the Sprint race and from eighth in the main event on Sunday.

Upcoming Race Schedule

The next event on the calendar is the Sprint race, which is set to take place at 9:15 AM local time on Saturday, followed by the main race scheduled for 3:30 PM on Sunday. Fans and teams alike are eagerly anticipating these thrilling events, which promise to deliver high-speed action and intense competition on the track.
