Is There a MotoGP Race This Weekend?
Absolutely! Following the recent race in Indonesia, the MotoGP series will be heading to Australia for the Grand Prix, taking place from October 16 to October 19, 2025. This event marks the 19th round of the 2025 MotoGP season, and it will occur at the stunning Phillip Island circuit. Fans can look forward to the sprint race scheduled to start at 1:00 AM on Saturday and the main race taking place at midnight on Sunday, both in Brasília time.
About the Phillip Island Circuit
The Phillip Island circuit is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and thrilling racing conditions. Stretching over 4,450 meters, it features a unique layout with seven left-hand corners and five right-hand corners, complemented by a long straight that measures 900 meters. The combination of high-speed turns and picturesque ocean views makes Phillip Island one of the fastest tracks on the MotoGP calendar. This weekend, the Moto2 and Moto3 categories will also be featured, while MotoE will make its return in November 2025.
2025 MotoGP Season Recap
As the 2025 season progresses, the previous event took place in Mandalika, Indonesia, where the sprint race was won by Marco Bezzecchi. He capitalized on his pole position and maintained strong consistency throughout the race. Aldeguer and Raul Fernandez also delivered solid performances to secure their spots on the podium.
However, the main race was filled with unexpected drama, particularly for Marc Marquez. After experiencing several falls during the weekend, he crashed out again during the main event. The chaos began on the first lap when Bezzecchi made an error, colliding with Marquez’s bike, leading both riders to retire from the race. Further misfortunes struck as Francesco Bagnaia also crashed later in the race, alongside Enea Bastianini and Joan Mir. This left Fermin Aldeguer of Gresini Racing to take victory, with Pedro Acosta and Alex Marquez rounding out the podium.
Marc Marquez’s Injury Update
Regrettably, Marc Marquez will be sidelined for at least the next two races in Australia and Malaysia due to his injuries sustained in Indonesia. Fans and competitors alike are hoping for a swift and complete recovery for the champion, particularly as he has been a dominant force throughout the season.

With four races remaining in the season — Australia, Malaysia, Portugal, and Valencia — Marc Marquez has already clinched the championship title with a remarkable total of 545 points. Currently, there is a fierce competition for the runner-up position, with Alex Marquez holding a significant 88-point lead over Francesco Bagnaia, who has faced a challenging season.
