MotoGP – Austrian Grand Prix – Schedule – 2025

Is there a MotoGP race happening? Absolutely! After a brief break, the Austrian Grand Prix will take place this weekend from August 15 to August 17, 2025. This race marks the 13th round of the 2025 MotoGP season. The sprint race is set to kick off at 10:00 AM on Saturday, while the main race will start at 9:00 AM on Sunday, both times according to Brasília timezone. As always, viewers can catch the action on ESPN and Disney+ Premium.

The venue for this exciting event will be the Red Bull Ring, a circuit that stretches 4,300 meters long and features 10 turns (3 right and 7 left) along with the longest straight of 626 meters. Alongside the MotoGP, fans can also look forward to witnessing the thrilling races of Moto2, Moto3, and Moto E.

2024 Season Recap

Last year, during the sprint race, Francesco Bagnaia seized the lead right at the start. However, he quickly lost it to Jorge Martin, who performed remarkably well early on. A mistake by Martin allowed Bagnaia to regain control and ultimately secure the win. Aleix Espargaro also put on a strong performance, finishing on the podium alongside Bagnaia and Martin. In the main race, Bagnaia once again displayed his skill by reclaiming the lead early in the event and winning. Martin finished second, and Bastianini rounded out the podium for Ducati.

2025 Championship Overview

Fast forward to 2025, the most recent round took place in the Czech Republic, where Marc Marquez emerged victorious in the sprint race. Despite not starting from the pole position, Marquez quickly took the lead from Bagnaia on the first lap. He faced a setback as he lost the lead to Pedro Acosta due to tire issues but managed to recover, reclaiming his position and crossing the finish line first. Acosta finished in second place, while Bastianini secured the third spot on the podium.

In the main event, Marquez continued his impressive performance, extending his lead in the championship standings with 381 points. Bezzecchi and Acosta joined him on the podium, with Acosta fending off pressure from Bagnaia in the final laps. Bagnaia and Raul Fernandez completed the top five, while Jorge Martin, making a comeback, finished in seventh place.
