MotoGP – Malaysia GP Schedule – 2025

Is there a MotoGP race happening? Yes! Following the recent event in Australia, this weekend (October 23 to 26, 2025) will see the Malaysia Grand Prix, which is the 20th round of the 2025 MotoGP season, taking place at Sepang. The anticipated start times are set for 4:00 AM on Saturday (Sprint) and 4:00 AM on Sunday (Main Race) – all in Brasília time.

About the Sepang Circuit

The Sepang circuit is renowned for its high-speed curves combined with challenging braking points at slower corners. The track stretches over 5 kilometers per lap and features 15 corners (5 left and 10 right), providing a diverse and exciting racing experience. The track width is 16 meters, and the longest straight measures nearly 1 kilometer in length. Additionally, Moto2 and Moto3 will also be competing at this event, while MotoE will return in November 2025.

2025 Season Recap

As of now, the last race of the 2025 season was held in Australia. During the sprint race, Marco Bezzecchi claimed victory, with Raul Fernandez and Pedro Acosta rounding out the podium. The top nine finishers included Jack Miller, Di Giannantonio, Alex Marquez, Fabio Quartararo, Marini, and Pol Espargaro, all of whom earned points. Unfortunately, Francesco Bagnaia finished in a disappointing 19th place, marking a challenging race for him.

In the main race, Raul Fernandez delivered an impressive performance, securing a sensational victory. Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi once again completed the podium, with Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta close behind. The top ten was rounded out by Marini, Rins, Binder, Bastianini, and Pol Espargaró. It was a tough weekend for Francesco Bagnaia, who crashed and lost his third place in the championship standings to Bezzecchi.

Marc Marquez’s Season Comes to an Early End

Sadly, Marc Marquez will not be participating in the remaining races of the season, including those in Malaysia, Portugal, and Valencia, due to an injury sustained in Indonesia. Fans are hoping for his swift recovery from the right shoulder injury.

Championship Title Decided in Japan

With three races remaining in the season (Malaysia, Portugal, and Valencia), the championship title has already been clinched. Marc Marquez has amassed a total of 545 points, making him the champion for the 2025 season. The battle for second place is still mathematically open, with Alex Marquez, Bezzecchi, and Bagnaia all vying for the position, although Alex Marquez appears to have a strong grip on the silver medal.
