ViaMobilidade Launches Express Train Service for São Paulo Grand Prix 2025
In anticipation of the highly awaited São Paulo Grand Prix, scheduled for November 7-9, 2025, ViaMobilidade, the operator responsible for the 8-Diamante and 9-Esmeralda train lines, has commenced ticket sales for the Express Train service. This initiative promises to deliver a faster, more comfortable, and safer transportation option for fans heading to the iconic Interlagos racetrack during the event weekend. Tickets are available for purchase on the official ViaMobilidade website.
Efficient Routes to Interlagos
The Express Train will operate from two key stations: Pinheiros and Morumbi Claro. This service will provide a direct route to the racetrack, featuring no stops along the way. Trains will depart approximately every 30 minutes, ensuring timely arrivals for fans eager to experience the excitement of the Grand Prix. The boarding process is set to take place in specially themed environments, enhancing the overall experience from the very start of the journey.
One of the standout features of this year’s service is the exclusive stop at Cidade Dutra Station. This station is conveniently located just about 700 meters from the G and F gates, which serve as primary access points to the Fanzone. The Fanzone is a vibrant area designed for fans, offering a variety of entertainment activities, interactive experiences, live shows, simulators, and opportunities to engage with racing drivers throughout the Grand Prix weekend.
Additionally, the Cidade Dutra Station provides easy access to other entrances, including HKNR (1 km), gates D and M (1.6 km), gate 8 (1.8 km), gate A (2.2 km), gate T (2.6 km), and gate HNK (3.7 km). For those preferring a different route, the Autódromo Station will also be in regular operation during the event, allowing for quick access to the circuit gates. Distances from this station vary based on the gate chosen: approximately 1 km to gates G and F, 1.3 km to HKNR, 1.9 km to gates D and M, 2.1 km to gate 8, 2.5 km to gate A, and up to 4 km for gate HNK.
Enhanced Accessibility and Comfort
The Cidade Dutra Station has been temporarily reactivated to accommodate the Express Train service, featuring facilities designed to ensure comfort and accessibility for all passengers. This includes a provisional platform, accessible ramps, restrooms, surveillance cameras, and a dedicated operational team. Clear signage and visual communication will also be implemented to facilitate a smooth travel experience.
This initiative underscores ViaMobilidade’s commitment to sustainable mobility by promoting the use of public transportation and aiming to reduce the number of cars on the road during the event. With the area surrounding the racetrack being closed to vehicle traffic, the Express Train stands out as an efficient, eco-friendly alternative for fans attending the São Paulo Grand Prix. In the previous year, the Express service successfully transported over 60% of the event’s attendees.
“The Express Train is more than just a mode of transport; it’s an integral part of the Grand Prix experience,” explained João Pita, the commercial director of Motiva. “The stop at Cidade Dutra brings fans even closer to the event, showcasing how rail transport can play a pivotal role in large urban operations. It’s an offering that combines convenience, sustainability, and innovation.”
Organized Operations for a Seamless Experience
Throughout the three days of operation, teams will be stationed at all participating stations to assist passengers and ensure a smooth, safe, and organized flow of travelers. ViaMobilidade will also enhance communication through digital panels, social media channels, and signage at stations to streamline ticket purchasing and boarding processes.
The Cidade Dutra Station will serve as a strategic point to facilitate customer access to the Grand Prix while maintaining regular operations on the 9-Esmeralda line. The separation of express and regular services will lead to more efficient and organized boarding procedures, improving traffic flow in the surrounding area and minimizing impact on local residents and businesses.
Regular service on the 9-Esmeralda line will continue to operate normally from the Autódromo Station, providing a consistent transportation alternative for the public.
