MotoGP: Czech Republic Grand Prix Schedule – 2025
Are you ready for the excitement of MotoGP? This weekend, from July 18 to July 20, 2025, the Czech Republic Grand Prix will take place, marking the 12th round of the 2025 MotoGP season. The races promise to deliver thrilling action, with the sprint race scheduled to kick off at 10:00 AM on Saturday and the main race at 9:00 AM on Sunday, all in Brasília time. As always, you can catch the live broadcasts on ESPN and Disney+ Premium. In addition to the main event, Moto2 and Moto3 will also be in action, although MotoE will not be participating this time.
The Historic Brno Circuit
The Czech Republic’s Brno circuit is a legendary venue that has hosted motorcycle racing since 1930. After a five-year hiatus, the track returns to the MotoGP calendar, much to the delight of fans and riders alike. Historically, races in Brno took place on the streets of nearby towns until 1982, when the new circuit was built specifically to attract Formula 1 events to the region. The new layout is set in a natural basin, providing excellent viewing opportunities for spectators.
Measuring 5,400 meters in length, the Brno circuit features 14 turns—6 left and 8 right—along with a long straightaway of 636 meters. This unique combination of technical corners and long straights makes it a favorite among riders for its challenging layout and scenic views.
2020 Season Recap
The last time MotoGP was held at Brno in 2020, the race culminated in a thrilling showdown. Brad Binder, riding for KTM, claimed victory, while Franco Morbidelli secured second place, followed closely by Johann Zarco, who started from pole position. The top five was rounded out by Alex Rins and Valentino Rossi, showcasing a mix of established talent and emerging stars.
Current Standings in the 2025 Championship
As the 2025 season progresses, the competition remains intense. The last event took place in Germany, where the sprint race featured an exciting podium comprised of riders from Ducati, Aprilia, and Yamaha, with Marc Marquez taking the top spot. He was joined on the podium by Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Quartararo, who completed the top three. Other notable riders who scored points included Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, Brad Binder, Zarco, Alex Marquez, and Pedro Acosta, while Francesco Bagnaia finished in 12th place.
During the main race, Marc Marquez once again demonstrated his dominance, achieving yet another victory. The race was chaotic, with only ten riders finishing. Di Giannantonio was in second place and making a strong effort to keep up with Marquez but unfortunately crashed on lap 18, coinciding with Zarco’s fall. Bezzecchi briefly took over second place but also crashed on lap 21. This left Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia to secure the remaining podium spots, with Fabio Quartararo and Aldeguer rounding out the top five.
Currently, Marc Marquez leads the championship standings with 344 points, followed by Alex Marquez with 261 points and Bagnaia with 197 points, making the competition at the top quite fierce.
