Insights from Recent Feeder Series Testing in Europe

In the past week, over 100 drivers from various feeder series took to the tracks at Monza, Mugello, and Spa as they gear up for the 2026 racing season. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the testing sessions, highlighting key participants, teams, and performance metrics gathered during these crucial preparation events.

Formula 2 and Formula 3 Testing at Monza

The private testing session at Monza began on November 3rd, with Kateyama conducting their second day of tests. Among the notable drivers was Colton Herta, who had previously been reported to be involved. Prema Racing showcased a Dallara F2 2018 car, featuring Aston Martin junior Mari Boya (#1), who is expected to race for René Rosin’s team in the upcoming season.

On the same day, Emmo Fittipaldi Jr. (#14) partnered with Herta in another Dallara F2 2018 from MM International Motorsport. The identity of the driver who participated on the first day remains unconfirmed.

In the Formula 3 category, Brando Badoer (#912) replaced Christian Ho in Rodin Motorsport’s Dallara F3 2019 car, while Jesse Carrasquedo (#20) took over from Hiyu Yamakoshi in the Van Amersfoort Racing F3 vehicle.

Feeder Series identified several other drivers who participated in both days of testing. Campos Racing fielded its F2 lineup with Nikola Tsolov (#12) and Noel León (#44). Meanwhile, Porteiro Motorsport had Ricardo Escotto and Yevan David in their F3 cars. David is confirmed to race for AIX Racing next year, while Escotto was seen in the paddock at the F3 season finale in Monza.

Additionally, it has come to light that Charlie Wurz will not be racing for Trident in Formula 2 next year. Instead, he is believed to be heading to a Toyota team in Japan’s Super Formula series for 2026. This opens the door for Christian Mansell, who tested with Trident at Monza, to potentially fill that seat.
